There are a wealth of coaches and consultants out there so I’d recommend asking yourself “Why them” when choosing. There are some important things to consider
1- How do you feel about them initially, you don’t have to ‘like’ your coach or consultant but if you are finding them difficult or hard to connect to then it’s going to be difficult to trust their judgement or opinions. I’m happy to have a chat with you and make sure we’re compatible before you need to make any decisions.
2- What’s their area of specialism? Do they know anything about the area or sector you need them to? All business isn’t the same. I work largely with social purpose organizations or start ups and I have been working with social purpose organizations for almost a decade.
3 – Do they offer the support you need? Coaching, mentoring and consulting are often lumped in to one pile but they are very different ways of working. Make sure whoever you choose is happy to have a chat about what you need.
“Fearless means trusting your instincts and clarity of thought. Once you have made up your mind, don’t be scared of what if.”
I’ve been working with social purpose businesses for almost a decade. I like seeing people overcome their own barriers and really believe in themselves. I often work with start ups and solo entrepreneurs for that reason, I love supporting someone to make their dream work.
I’m a qualified Action learning facilitator
I have qualifications in counselling skills (although what I do is not counselling they do come in handy!)
I have my level 2 in mental health first aid
I am fully insured with personal indemnity and liability
I’ve designed and facilitated communication and marketing group workshops for Plymouth University, Marjon University, School for Social Entrepreneurs, Plymouth Social Enterprise Network and held 1-1’s with many other small organisations.
I also have spoken at events, run workshops, chaired conference sessions, hosted networking events and facilitated board consultations. My facilitation skills are well respected in the sector.
Part of the joy in belonging to the social purpose sector is that we understand there is more to the world than making money.
